TUESDAY TUNES.

Be Good or Be Gone by Fionn Regan.

I really love this song and I really love the music video that goes with it. The video and the words are so simple, yet pretty damn meaningful, non? And they shot the video with all the ambient sound; they didn't add the vocals to the video after they were done filming. I like that.

Don't you just love his name?? I love his name. Irish names are turbo fab.

So, apparently you can't embed the music video to your webpage because they have disabled that function for some of his stuff...weird. Watch it here.

PERFECT 10.

I absolutely love gymnastics. I did it all the time as a kid and watched the Nadia movie frequently with my sister. Although, I did not call it gymnastics. It was, "gymastics" and I informed my family during one of my after dinner living room routines that there is, "no clapping in gymastics."

Anyways, in light of the Olympic games I decided to google some of my favorite gymnasts from back in the golden days when I was a kid. I was rather surprised about a fact I uncovered regarding one the old leotard ladies. I used to really dig:

Dominique Dawes.

She was part of the Magnificent 7.

They were all so fierce.

Um, according to her website, she was on BROADWAY?!?!?! I know, right? She was in the heinous revival of, "Grease" and played played Patty Simcox. Who knew?? Just thought I'd share.

DOCUMENTARY DAYS.

Continuing with my documentary themed post the other day, I am writing about another one. "Surfwise" is one I am dying to see. It is the story of Dr. Paskowitz, who, in 19 took his wife and 9 kids on the road to live in a trailer and surf. A pretty amazing story...

TUESDAY TUNES.

I don't remember when or where I first heard this song, but I have been listening to it like crazy for some reason. It is just working right now for me and the summer. I think I am going to teach myself this one on the ukulele.

WHOA NELLY.

Apparently there was a big shoot out at some party for my boi Usher by Janet Jacked-Up's-Main-Man Jermaine Dupri. Here is the statement that was in People Magazine:

"Gunfire erupted early Saturday at an Atlanta nightclub party sponsored by Jermaine Dupri and attended by music stars Usher, Nelly and Sean "Diddy" Combs. A security guard was reportedly wounded. "I'm sad this incident happened because it interrupted a beautiful and loving party. But I'm happy none of my people or friends got hurt. And the party continues," Dupri tells PEOPLE in a statement. "

Um, is it just me or was the security guard injured? Apparently he wasn't one of Jermaine's "friends," so all was cool. Sucks to be him.

And now, a photo of one of my fave celebs because he was in attendance of said party and because he is the BOMB-DIDDY.

Don't stop Diddy Diddy!!!

Ok. I might start having regular postings about Diddy because I love him. He is the best. And, now that I am moving back east, I am TOTALLY getting invited to his white party. Like, yeah.

AMERICAN TEEN.

Just saw this with my madre and it was wonderful. A documentary that follows a group of teenagers throughout their senior year of high school in Warsaw, Indiana. I give it every good kind of thumbs up possible.

This one is next on my list...

LATHER IT.

Over the past few years, I have started wearing sunscreen every single day. My Irish complexion starts to fry after about 10 minutes in the sun and I'm not too into the idea of getting skin cancer later on in my life. I realized you can't just buy any old sunscreen...it has to have the right stuff in it. It needs to cover both UVA and UVB rays; it needs to be broad spectrum. So, after trying lots of them, here are my faves:

SkinCeuticals Sport UV Defense

I am totally obsessed with this sunscreen. I just love it. I put it on my face every day and it feels like lotion. It isn't greasy at all and is top of the line and apparently JLo uses it! We ALL want to be more like JLo! It is waterproof and designed for sports/active use, so it never runs or sweats off. The bottle lasts forever and is definitely worth the splurge.

Neutrogena makes some really great sunscreens that aren't greasy and aren't too expensive. They are broad spectrum and extremely light weight.

Ultra-Sheer Dry-Tough Sunblock

This one is my favorite for putting on my bod because it, like the SkinCeuticals, feels like lotion and doesn't leave your skin sticky. Plus, it has a great light scent to it. I usually HATE things that have smells to them, but they really did a great job with this.

Fresh Cooling Body Mist

I love this one for when I need to put it on quickly on hard to reach spots, like my back. The can works pretty well even when it is upside down. Maaaagic. It applies really evenly. You have to spray this stuff on in a big open space because it is in a spray can and the smell can get a little intense if you don't have some good air flow going on. Not too sure how good for the environment this bottle is either...

Happy safe sunning!
