WHY HER NICKNAME FITS.

My hilarious friend Rockelle invited me to a night of Karaoke at a bar hosted by her friend who just happens to own a bunch of equipment. Unfortunately I could not attend, but Rockelle did, and the re-telling of her performance via g-chat made me laugh out loud:

Rockelle: Oh Molly, you missed me being SO awesome.

Me: DAMMIT.

Rockelle: Like, I went there.

Me: HAHAHAH.

Rockelle: And then I went back.

Yeah.

4 words for you.

"Piece of My Heart."

Needless to say, I was sort of on a Maker's Mark IV.

Me: You are my hero.

Rockelle: And I may have followed that up with Drops of Jupiter by Train.

I CAN'T GET ENOUGH.

ALSO, THIS.

RANDOM IS THE WORD OF THE DAY.

1. My weekend out of town with the kids I teach was too cool for school. We even went apple picking and hit up a corn maze.

2. This is blowing my mind right now.

3. Monday night we had this outrageous hail storm and those balls of ice were giant. I thought my windows were going to explode, no joke. I was actually a little bit freaked out and texted my sister "Has the apocalypse arrived?" to which she replied "Apparently."

4. When you are experiencing a hail storm, the best thing to do is get in the bathtub with a glass of red wine. Do not reinforce your windows or purchase sandbags. Buy Malbec.

5. I think we all know who would win in the face of a natural disaster: Me.

6. I still don't have a dresser and am getting a little sick of having my unmentionables on the floor in a bag.

7. I love my apartment.

8. My band is performing at the year anniversary party for Memphis the Musical. Congratulations, Memphis! One year on Broadway!!!

9. Boustrophedon is a cool word.

10. I got my flu shot today for free from Actors' Equity. Thank you, Union!!!! Are you getting yours?

SUBWAY SLEEPING.

I sent this video to my homies and the response back from one of them was too funny not to post.

"i love this.

i always sleep on the train at night.

when i lived uptown, i would frequently sleep past my stop and wake up at 145th st in harlem. like every saturday night. i'd be like "oh shit, not again."

thank god i moved to bklyn and never ride the train on the weekends any more."

HAPPY LONG WEEKEND.

Fall has arrived and so have I.

I'm on sale at a farmer's market near you.

Have a wonderful Columbus Day Weekend and I will see you next week!

XO.

WHAT IS HAPPENING.

FOR STARTERS: MY BIRTHDAY MONTH HAS BEGUN.

Just wanted to get that out there.

Per the usual, time has been flying by and I can't keep track of where it has been running off to. But, things have been wonderful.

I repeat: Wonderful.

It is now officially fall. As I exclaimed to Mister Defender when we were at the farmer's market this weekend while I was gazing at the giant baskets of apples and butternut squash in the chilly morning, "HEY! IT'S FALL! WHO KNEW!?" Some people turned around and looked at me like I was an idiot.

It's cool, it's cool. I get that a lot.

I am now 70% settled into my new apartment and I don't ever want to leave it. It is so pretty and full of sunlight and clean and spacious. I have been sleeping well because it is so quiet, I have nice neighbors, and I have too many friends to count that live in walking distance of my new abode. I can't tell you how delightful it is to be able to walk out my front door and pop into a friend's apartment for a drink without having to take a train somewhere. I'm in heaven.

Also heaven? My new couch that my sister scored for me at Housing Works for super cheap. If The Sister says something is clean and in good condition, you better believe it is. Fantastic furniture for 2 great causes: charity and the prettification of my apartment.

Now I just need a few funky arm chairs, a dresser, a piano, and a bar cart. And a rug. And an iron. And a file cabinet. And...then I will have to make Sanchez come over and help me hang up my paintings.

To close I give you a random photo of me from this summer when Josebee and I stopped off at the A&W for lunch on our way back from our writer's retreat/swimming hole extravaganza.

The only vegetarian options were french fries and rootbeer floats.

I did not complain.
